Emotional Cartography
2026
Embroidery, thread mapping

Statement
I wanted to make a self portrait, not of how I look, but of everything I carry within me.
Emotional Cartography grew from years of intense emotions: anxiety, depression, rage, grief, and moments when everything felt too heavy to carry. Rather than hiding these experiences, I began to explore them as material.
Through drawing, embroidery, print and experimentation, I translated emotion into color, texture, movement and form. What began with difficult experiences gradually became something beautiful not beauty for its own sake, but beauty carrying memory, vulnerability and resilience.
Each textile became a fragment of myself, transformed rather than surpassed.
