Statement
This piece grew from grief following the death of my grandfather. Encountering the remains of a pigeon shifted my personal grief into a reflection on death, impermanence, and how unexpectedly close they are to us.
Departing from my usual process of sampling and planning, I worked intuitively, allowing the threads, sequins and beads to guide me. Each decision revealed the next.
